For a few weeks this spring I spent too much energy checking the corona-news. It didn’t do me any good.
I think the biggest mistake we are doing is not to listen to nature. To sit inside as I was doing and live in images of the world rather than in the world. Nature - the winds, clouds, oceans, birds, grass, trees and dust - has its own language, experiences and consciousness. It tells us where we come from and what we should do on the road ahead. The more I remove myself from nature and the more I increase my availability to the modern world, the more restless I become. The more unhappy too. Mother Earth is 4.54 billion years old, so it seems to me arrogant when we stop listen to her and instead blindly place our trust in human invention.
The 12 works I chose have something in common: they remind me about happy curious moments in nature, plus the quote above by my late friend Arne Næss. It is easy to forget, but the best things in life don’t have any lasting forms. And we were all born explorers.
